I am a Vancouver-based artist with a BFA from Emily Carr University and a practice grounded in drawing. My work explores themes of memory, domesticity, and nostalgia. I am particularly interested in how fleeting moments can act as entry points into deeper emotional and psychological spaces. Drawing from family narratives and personal histories, my work examines the shifting relationship between past and present. I create scenes that delve into intimate, lived-in environments, inviting viewers into private ephemeral moments.
The gestural quality of my drawings conveys a sense of urgency, as though these memories are being captured in the moment before they disappear. Through this immediacy, the works hold onto what is otherwise fleeting, preserving fragments of daily experiences that quickly fade away. Repetition plays a central role in my process, as I often revisit forms and settings to blur the boundaries between reality and imagination. Through this approach, I aim to construct spaces that feel both familiar and uncanny, paired with a whimsical and colourful palette that invokes a sense of childhood nostalgia.
